A Herbal Handwash

Overview

             Hand washing is the one of the most important things in our day to day life. The journey of the handwashing habit started in 1844 to maintain hand hygiene by Ignaz Semmelweis. Nowadays a variety of handwash is available in the market. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the use of hand wash has increased very high. Basically, hand wash is used to protect our hand from various germs and infections.  But as of now most hand wash which are available in the market contain some amount of chemical. So use of such kind of chemical based hand wash results in loss of moisture from skin and protective layers stripped away.  So to avoid such kinds of problems we come with our traditional techniques of developing herbal hand wash.

Inspiration

         As an Indian we blessed with the various traditional systems and techniques, Ayurveda is one of them.  It is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. In Ayurveda, a variety of Churna is used to maintain the wellbeing of health. Churna is a mixture of powdered herbs which has to be mix into water. So, by the inspiration of this and the problem experienced from the existing hand wash we come with our Crystal Powder-based Herbal hand wash.

HerboGiene: A be-leaf of healthy life

              The key idea of developing this product is to make a purely herbal hand wash. As we blessed with knowledge of Ayurveda we feel like we have the Genie. As this product is for to maintain the Hand Hygiene. The first of the brand name "Herbo" comes from the herbal and the second half "Giene" comes from Hy-Giene. So the thought behind the brand name "HerboGiene" is that this brand is the Genie of Herb which is works for your healthy life and gives you that Belief of secureness and protection.

Style Guide

From the market survey of various hand wash brands and the Unique Selling Point of these products and characteristics, I chose few primary colors and experimented with different secondary color combinations and typeface combinations that show the Uniqueness of my product. â€‹

​

  • As "HerboGiene" is a hygiene product which having characteristics of Genie but having seriousness of product too. So, I have experimented with various kinds of gradient combinations which can give the feel of Giene character as well as the feel of our traditional healthy herbal hand hygiene.

  • For the color, I choose the two primary colors to be 'Blue' as it gives the feel of Giene and 'Green' as it gives the feel of the Herb.

  • I iterated in different font combinations before settling for 'Acumin Variable Concept' as the logo font and ' Gabriola' as tagline font. Acumin Variable Concept chosen as it gave a simple but serious vibe similar to the product and Gabriola was used due to its clean and relaxing feel.
